Pace, confidence and a record: Alex Escrig shines in Jerez test

Alex Escrig has completed two very productive days of work at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, setting the fastest time of the tests and leaving a very solid impression ahead of the start of the season. The rider from Puçol was able to ride continuously in stable conditions, focusing the programme on fine-tuning the set-up and evaluating technical developments. The result was unbeatable, with Escrig setting the absolute circuit record for a Moto2 bike: a 1:38.815 that put him at the top of the table and reflects the excellent level he showed over both days.

The 11 rated the test with satisfaction, but also with the serenity of someone who knows that the work has only just begun: "The balance is very positive. Our main objective was to finish the test feeling good, and we achieved that.‘ The Samurai particularly highlighted his comfort on the bike and the consistency of his pace: ’I felt very comfortable every time I went out on the track, with a competitive and consistent pace. The times came naturally, which shows that we are heading in the right direction."

Regarding the specific classification work, Escrig explained: "We had set ourselves a target of 1:38 and we were able to achieve it, with a margin that leaves us satisfied. The time attack was clean and well executed.‘ Now, the Puçol rider is focusing on the first event on the calendar: ’We have to keep up this line of work and transfer these feelings to Thailand. The goal is to start the season at the same competitive level."
