Alex Escrig Reche was born on February 21, 2004, in Puçol (Valencia, Spain), and from a very young age, he felt the need to experience speed on two wheels. He rode his first motorcycle at just four years old, and by the age of six, he was already competing on tracks, starting a journey full of success and learning that has taken him to the top of international motorcycling.

His competitive spirit made him a multidisciplinary rider, standing out not only in speed racing but also in disciplines like motocross, supermotard, and trial. His rise was meteoric: from his first podiums in the Inter-School League to becoming a benchmark in national and international championships.

The First Steps of a ChampionSpirit

From the beginning, Alex showed he was a natural talent. In 2014, at just 10 years old, he became the Spanish Champion of MiniGP 140 in the Cuna de Campeones, one of the most demanding competitions for young prospects. His growth continued with titles and runner-up positions in the CEV, Motodes, and the Valencian Community Territorial Championship, showing exceptional ability to adapt to each new category.

In 2016, he reached a milestone by becoming Champion of the Motodes Speed Championship and the Valencian Territorial Championship in Challenge 80cc, proving he was ready for even greater challenges. The following year, in Premoto3 of the CEV, he began testing his skills against Spain’s best young riders.

The Spirit of the Samurai on the Track

In the world of motorcycling, Alex is also known as “Samurai.” His admiration for Japanese culture and its life philosophy perfectly match his track mindset: discipline, honor, and perseverance. For him, each race is like a warrior’s duel where focus and strategy are just as important as speed. Like ancient samurai, he believes in the code of effort and constant self-improvement, facing each challenge with determination and respect for his rivals.

Rise in the World of Motorcycling

Alex Escrig kept progressing, and in 2019 he debuted in the prestigious Red Bull Rookies Cup of MotoGP, a competition that has served as a launching pad for some of the world’s best riders. That same year he earned his first podium in the category, proving that his future in the elite was getting closer.

In 2021, he achieved one of the biggest successes of his career by becoming European Champion in Superstock 600 within the FIM CEV Repsol, winning every race in the championship. This feat opened the doors for him to compete in Moto2, where in 2022 he finished third in the Moto2 European Championship, standing on the podium in seven of the nine races and also competing in the MotoE World Championship with the Tech3 E-Racing team.

That same year, Alex stepped into the MotoGP World Championship, debuting in Moto2 as a wildcard in the Valencia Grand Prix. His performance led him to sign with Forward Racing for the 2023 season, establishing himself as a regular rider in the Moto2 World Championship.

Number 11 and His Life Philosophy

Number 11 was not a random choice. Since he was little, it was his number in the school line, and over time, it became his identity symbol on the track. For Alex, this number represents consistency, effort, and the fight to reach his dreams.

His competitive nature and adaptability have allowed him to race against the best, but what truly defines him is his growth mindset. For him, every race is a chance to keep learning and show his full potential.

Beyond Racing: A Passionate Valencian

Off the track, Alex Escrig is a friendly, approachable person, loyal to his values. He speaks English and Italian, which has helped him connect with riders and teams from various countries throughout his career. He’s also a great friend to his friends, always valuing camaraderie and mutual support both on and off the track.

As a true Valencian, he enjoys a good Sunday paella with his family, a tradition he keeps no matter where he is. But his love for sports doesn’t stop at motorcycling: he’s into cycling, boxing, and fitness training, which help improve his endurance and focus on the track.

Another one of his interests is fashion. He likes to take care of his image and follow trends, proving that you can be fast on the track and stylish off it.

Dreams and Goals: The Road to MotoGP

Alex Escrig’s idol is Marc Márquez, whom he admires for his determination and fighting spirit. However, Alex is determined to write his own story in motorcycling. His big dream is to become Moto2 World Champion and make the leap to MotoGP, where he hopes to race against the best and achieve glory in the premier class.
