The Moto2 Portuguese Grand Prix ended on a positive note for Alex Escrig, who once again demonstrated his progress with a solid and consistent performance at the Portimão circuit. The Spanish rider was competitive throughout the weekend and managed to finish in twelfth position, scoring important points and reaffirming the growth he has shown in recent races.
Friday began with changeable weather conditions that made it difficult to fine-tune the bike, but with the return of the sun on Saturday, Alex was able to show his full potential. He secured a direct pass to Q2 and an impressive fourth row on the starting grid, confirming his successful adaptation and the step forward he has made in qualifying.
In Sunday's race, Escrig maintained a pace very close to that of the leading riders, riding consistently and without making mistakes on a circuit that is both physically and technically demanding. His performance allowed him to finish in twelfth position, a result that boosts his confidence ahead of the final round of the year.
‘It was a good weekend, we continue to demonstrate all the work we are doing. We are working very well as a team, the results are starting to come in and that motivates us a lot. I want to thank them for their effort and trust. I hope we can continue in this vein. The next race will be at home, so I am even more eager to do well,’ said Alex at the end of the race.
With this performance, Escrig consolidates his progress in the intermediate category and arrives at the Valencia Grand Prix motivated to end the season on a high note, in front of his home crowd and on a circuit he knows well.
