Alex Escrig shines in the Jerez test with the 2026 bike and sets a historic record

Alex Escrig completed some very productive tests at the Circuito de Jerez-Ángel Nieto, which allowed him to try out the 2026 bike for the first time. From the very first laps, the rider from Puzol said that ‘I immediately felt comfortable with it, with the new chassis and suspension,’ pointing out that this technical base represents an important step forward for the season.

During training, different aspects of the bike were evaluated in order to determine its actual performance. Alex emphasised that ‘it has been a step forward that we will be able to enjoy this year’ and that they were ‘working on various aspects of the bike to see how it performs at 100%’.

Although the priority was to gather information, a time attack test was also carried out, yielding outstanding results. The Samurai stopped the clock at 1:39.172, setting the absolute circuit record for a Moto2 bike and confirming the excellent level achieved during the test.

At the end, Alex was satisfied with the work done: ‘We are going into Christmas feeling more relaxed, knowing that we have done a good job.’ Now, the goal is to continue preparing every detail so that we are ‘200% ready’ at the start of the season.
