Alex Escrig, hampered by two long laps in his home race

The Valencia Grand Prix left Alex Escrig with mixed feelings, as he approached his home race with extra motivation and very positive vibes from the outset. Friday was one of the rider's strongest days, leading the first practice session and finishing fifth in the second, a start that confirmed the team's good work and the excellent feel of the bike.

On Saturday, he maintained that level and once again showed a very competitive pace ahead of the race. Although the qualifying session did not go exactly as he had hoped, Alex said it was ‘quite positive’ and that starting from the second row would allow him to fight for the podium. However, everything changed on Sunday when a small movement at the start was considered a jump start. ‘I had to do two long laps, which completely took me out of the fight for the goal we had set ourselves,’ he explained.

Despite the setback, Alex highlighted his performance on the track, stating that he was able to complete ‘a solid race, with a consistent pace that would have allowed us to fight for very prominent positions’. Aware of the support received on the circuit, he also wanted to send a clear message: ‘I apologise to the fans and the team, and I would like to thank everyone who came to support us and the team for the work they are doing’.

With his sights already set on what lies ahead, the driver is approaching Monday's test with the intention of transforming this learning experience into momentum for the coming season. ‘Now I'm thinking about Monday's test so that we can start 2026 in the same or better shape than we left 2025,’ he said, determined to continue growing alongside his team.
